Coming from a family running a stall in a hawker center, I understand the woes of self-employment. But I also understand the perks of being one now that I am in the financial industry. My belief is further anchored after I was hospitalized. The bill was huge, and if I didn't have adequate coverage my parents' retirement funds would have been wiped out. I took it as my calling to educate more people on the dire need to have sufficient coverage because we can never predict when tragedy will strike.
